Feel like quitting? Hold it right there...

Are the words “quit” and “fail” in your vocab? If they are – you need to take them out with the binbags.

They are negative words and should NOT be the first things you think about when things are going wrong or not going according to plan. Everyone has come to a point in their life (personally or professionally) where things got a bit too difficult and they wanted to throw the towel in. (I’ve been there too).

My message to you is my mantra > “Keep Going – Always™”.

Whether in life or business you have to keep going, no matter what is thrown at you – a saying I saw once was “When life gives you lemons, freeze them and throw them back!” And, that’s the thing you have to come back fighting.

You may have come to a brick wall right now and don’t see how to sort it out. There is always a way – so with the brick wall – go round it, through it, under it or over it – get on the other side!  – It doesn’t matter how. You need to trust and believe in yourself that there’s a way to sort this out.

As Forrest Gump says on the film“Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re gonna get” and that is so true. I have a tshirt from NYC with this on and it’s perfect because it reminds me of, not only the film, but also the truth behind the sentence.

So, if you feel like quitting, you have to realise that life is a journey and you may not have a straight road on your path. That’s okay, you may need to drive straight for a bit and then go around the roundabout and onto a different path in order to carry on and get back on track a few paths down the round.

That doesn’t mean you’re failing, it means you were meant to take a different route towards whatever your goal is.

Sometimes in life (and business) things crop up that we’re not in control of and it’s how you deal with them that matters.

You have to work on your head and your mindset. If you feed your head positive affirmations and concentrate on thinking of what you want (and not of what you don’t want), you are gold and good to go. That’s your goal throughout every single day.

If things aren’t going according to plan and you DO infact get to the final stage, for example, sales aren’t what you predicted, etc.  I want you to STOP and re-evaluate and look at what you have been doing and be honest with yourself.

e.g. Have you been doing everything possible, consistently in order to build your business? Have you tried every different angle in order to get your child potty-trained?

You have to learn something new along your journey and you may need to divert yourself a little to get back on the original track.

It helps to re-evaluate and reflect every week on how far you’ve come, what did and didn’t work and what you’ve achieved. You don’t want to keep looking backwards you’re not going in that direction so keep moving forward.

Before you quit, go back to your WHY and ask yourself questions and get clarity on WHY you started what you did in the first place. You may have lost sight of your WHY along the way and you need reminding of it.

e.g. Why you started your relationship | Why you started your business | Why you had a baby etc.

You need it all to resonate with what’s going on in your life and business right now.

CHANGE is good so embrace change.

You have to look at other aspects so, for example, if you have set up a business and it’s not going the way you planned – are you willing to give up the $10k that you have invested just because you’re having a negative moment?

You need to refocus, retrain, get a coach or see a solicitor. (whatever you need).

If you need specialist help then make that appointment, don’t procrastinate and think things will get better in the morning.

So, I wish you all the luck in the world. Always remember to – “Keep Going – Always™” and let me know (in the comments below) what stumbles you’re having or have had and what you’re doing or did do to sort them out.

Best wishes,

Rebecca.
